Intraoral Cameras
Seeing inside a patient’s mouth is easy for a dentist, but some areas can be difficult to pinpoint without the help of technology. Not only does the intraoral camera reach areas that cannot be seen by the naked eye, but it also allows patients to see in real-time what is going on inside their mouths. By scanning the teeth and gums with the camera-tipped wand, the images are projected onto a nearby computer screen, allowing our team to better explain the reasons for treatment.
All-Digital X-Rays
Traditional radiographs required harsh chemicals, hours spent in a darkroom for development, and unsafe conditions that left patients subjected to higher levels of radiation. Fortunately, these are no more thanks to the advancements in dentistry. We now use all-digital X-rays that emit far less radiation than before and can produce higher-resolution images in just seconds. This makes it easier to prepare treatment plans and retrieve images later on if necessary.
Digital Impression System
If you’ve ever gagged when having dental impressions taken of your smile, you’re not alone. The good news, however, is that cold, messy dental putty is a thing of the past. Instead, we use a digital impression system that quickly scans the inside of your mouth and creates a three-dimensional model using specialized software. From here, we can make any necessary adjustments before sending the 3D model off to lab technicians. They will use the image to create a customized restoration, no matter if it is a dental crown, bridge, denture, or veneer.
Cavity Detection System
Identifying cavities early on is one of the best ways to stop the spread of bacteria and minimize potential damage to your smile. This is why we now use a cavity detection system that can look for darkened areas of the teeth. In using this device, we can more clearly diagnose a problem much sooner and deliver timely care that reduces additional damage and helps patients to better maintain optimal oral health for the future.
